Investigation of Pigments in artworks by Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS)

Santiago Sanchez-Cortes is a Research Scientist at Institute of the Structure of Matter (IEM), CSIC Madrid, Spain. He is working in the field of Surface-Enhanced Optical Spectroscopy since 1988. He obtained his PhD in Chemistry in the Complutense University of Madrid in 1991. He spent a postdoctoral stay at the University of Bologna (Italy) from 1994 to 1995, as well as other stays as Visiting Professor in the University P.J. Safarik of Kosice (Slovakia), the University of Hokkaido in Sapporo (Japan) and the University of Bologna. He is currently the Head of the Spectroscopic on Nanostructured Plasmonic Metals Group in the Institute of the Structure of Matter (IEM). He has published up to 172 peer-reviewed articles published in SCI journals.
