The “Giacomo Ciamician” Department of Chemistry is a national reference point in the field of chemistry: an achievement resulting from the strong, ongoing and synergistic involvement of all members of staff in implementing cross-cutting activities of “excellence” in the areas of teaching, research and the Third Mission.
The research topics we pursue, ranging from basic to applied research, are diverse and highly interdisciplinary. Our Programme Catalogue is equally rich and dynamic, reflecting a constant commitment to training and innovation.
Of particular importance is our communication work aimed at disseminating, at all levels, knowledge of the chemical disciplines and their central role in modern society, within the framework of sustainable and environmentally responsible development.
A rapidly growing Department
Our department is spread across three branches: Bologna, Rimini and Ravenna.
In Bologna, we are based in the Navile district, the new scientific hub which, with its state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment, represents an extraordinary opportunity to consolidate our excellence at both national and international levels.
